Course Description
Contemporary psychology has evolved to study how people think, act and feel. This course will provide an introduction to major areas and topics in psychology, such as learning, memory, intelligence and motivation. The course will present an overview of major theoretical perspectives and research findings in psychology, and give evidence of how psychology works as a scientific process. The course will start with an introduction to the history of psychology and explore how it has developed as a scientific discipline over time. It will continue with an overview of the research methods used by psychologists and describe how scientific psychological studies are designed. It will focus on a set of topics related to various research areas in psychology, including cognitive, developmental, social and health psychology. Some of the topics that will be covered in the course are interactions between genetic and environmental factors in our development, processes of learning and remembering, intelligence and problem solving, theories of personality and motivation, and stress and well-being.

Course Description
This course is the first of a two-part sequence on social psychology, a discipline which is concerned with understanding how our thoughts, feelings and actions are influenced by social structures and processes. The focus is on social interaction. The social relevance of the theory and research in the field and a cross-cultural perspective are emphasized. The topics covered include: the history of the field, major theoretical and methodological issues, social cognition, stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination, and the self in cultural context.

Course Description
This course is an overview of the field of clinical psychology. Course Description
This is the first part of a two-course sequence. The aim of the course this semester is to introduce students to the basics of statistical reasoning in the context of the social sciences. Towards this end, students will be provided with the statistical skills required to collate, summarize, present and analyze data. Students will be expected to master the underlying logic of statistical operations and reasoning and to begin to apply their understanding to research in the social sciences via hypothesis testing.

Course Description
This course examines primary issues and methods of social science research. It covers basic aspects of the philosophy of science and main approaches to social research. All steps of planning and conducting a research (finding a research question, formulating hypotheses, selecting a design, selecting a sample, selecting instruments, composing a procedure, data collection, data analysis, and reporting) will be presented. This course aims to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired in the other researc-related courses such as Psychometrics and Statistics. Additionally, this course aims at providing the students with an opportunity to comprehend the relationship between theory and method.

This course ise the applied version of PSY 301 Reserach methods course. Students are invited to involve in the different steps of the research project that the assigned professor is carrying on. As an alternative students can work on their selected topic as an individual or as a group from start to finish. During this process, as the basic research practices are studied, critical discussions are done on the limitations that are faced during each phase of the project. This course provides an introduction to theoretical perspectives, descriptions, epidemiology, diagnostic techniques, clinical patterns, explanations and treatment methods related to psychological disorders. The course will emphasize continuities between normal and abnormal behavior and maintain a humanistic approach toward psychopathology. Attention will be paid to understanding the experience of pathology in its physiological, psychological and socio-cultural context. Course Description
This course is desiged to give an overview of the field of industrial psychology and to help students develop a systems approach to understand the relationship between job design, organizational structure, employee competencies and productive and counterproductive human behaviors. It shows the tools and techniques to systematically investigate these behaviors and potential interventions related to them. This course will have "Classroom as Organizations" design. Students will work as small groups as if they are the members of a company's HRM department; i.e., a simulation study will be conducted. As initial step they will select a benchmark from a particular sector and company, they will invesgigate this organization and its HRM department. Their selected companies will be assumed to be part of a conglomerate where each student group will hold the responsibility to structure HRM department and realize major functions.

Course Description
Forensic psychology deals with the interaction between psychology and law as well as clinical applications within the legal system. The course is designed to acquaint the student with the uses of psychological knowledge and techniques in the areas of investigation of crime, assessment of both offender and victim, dynamics of victimization, psychology of offenders and treatment and rehabilitation of the convicted. In addition, consideration is given to aspects of violence, and interactions among the legal system, the individual and society. In the fields of both criminal justice and civil law (particularly family courts and children's courts), law and psychology professionals must collaborate in various stages of the legal process. This course aims to provide students with the necessary theoretical background and relevant skills for some of these applications.

This course provides an overview of the literature on the relationships of individuals to communities and society and on community-based approaches to applied developmental questions. Community-based approaches use an ecological and preventive perspective and focus on work with individuals, groups, communities and social institutions to create change. In this course students learn about the many roles psychologists can play in working with applied developmental questions and bringing about change. Students are required to complete on-site projects that facilitate linking course material to real life.

This course will provide the students with an introduction to the psychoanalytic theory and its clinical implications. Key concepts of psychoanalytic theory will be introduced and different approaches within the psychoanalytic school from the Freudian starting point to contemporary perspectives will be covered. The aim of this course is to develop an understanding of human nature, development and psychopathology from a psychoanalytic point of view. Course Description
This two-semester course aims to support the students in a year-long senior project. The project may be based on original quantitative or qualitative research, or another type of project chosen in consultation with the project advisor. Students will be required to work closely with their advisers and the course assistant throughout project.
