ECTS Credit Allocation

The ECTS credit load for courses at İstanbul Bilgi University has been determined by keeping the “student workload” in mind. Programs have been designed in accordance with an annual workload of 60 ECTS. The calculation of the workload of a course is done by taking into consideration the total number of course activities done in a term and the required hours to complete them. Some of the activities are as follows: Lecture class hours, lab work, project design, project presentations, field work, discussion, problem solving, internships, exams, preparation time for other evaluation activities, etc.

The ECTS credit load for Turkish Revolutionary History, Turkish, and English for Academic Purposes courses that are required by all programs is determined by the University Academic Board.

Since the value of 1 ECTS credit is 25,5 hours at İstanbul Bilgi University, the student workload for one academic year is 1.530 hours.
