Course Description
Customer relationship management is rapidly becoming an important new initiative for most companies when trying to improve their relationship marketing programs. Customer relationship management can be described as a comprehensive set of processes and technologies for managing the relationships with potential and current customers and business partners across marketing, sales, and service areas regardless of the channel of distribution. Instead of adopting the traditional adversarial stance against customers and suppliers, many leading companies are now developing close relationships with them. They realize the power of systematically building the customer's business as a means to adding value for end-customers, and lowering system-wide costs in the supply chain. These are done through a variety of relationship marketing programs, including customer partnering, supplier partnering, alliances and internal partnering. In this process the old functional silos are giving way to multifunctional teams in order to serve customers in a coordinated and cohesive manner.

Course Description
Just like the monarchies that faded away at the turn of the last century, uni-block large enterprises are giving way to `shamrock` organizations based on loosely bound, self-sufficient yet strongly integrated network units, each acting like a small business. Your professional ambitions might lead you towards a corporate career in those new economy establishments or you might choose to satisfy the material and/or cognitive needs of your `free soul` by a private venture: in either case you must master one essential art: entrepreneurship. The above vision delineates the conceptual framework of this course, which we call `businessing`. Based on the motto, `every person is a business person`, this course is intended to help the attendees develop an entrepreneurial approach to a series of steps extending from idea generation to planning, fund raising and management.

Course Description
The aim of the course is to reveal the motives and patterns underlying firm behavior in different contexts. The major concern of strategic management theorists in relation to strategic choice, competitiveness, diversity, competition, cooperation and structuring of markets will be discussed from economic and sociological perspectives. Traditionally, strategic management was considered to be a practice experienced only by big firms. However, today, we have enough many theories and tools to apply the concept of strategy to small and medium sized firms, organizations of different character than production (services, entertainment, education..) and organizations with a different aim than profit (NGOs). Furthermore, traditionally, strategy was studied as an object where no emphasis was put on the processes where strategy is enacted, adapted and practiced. Currently, the field of strategic management has gone through a vast transformation where our understanding of strategy, strategizing and firm has been transformed as well. During the lectures based on transaction costs, resource-based view, new institutionalism, social networks and strategy-as-practice, students will be able to evaluate why some firms behave in a certain way, what influences their choice of a specific strategy, why they change their strategies.

Course Description
The scope of classical philosophy of science encompasses asking fundamental questions about the epistemology of scientific discovery and reasoning: the limits of human knowledge about the external reality and the legitimate ways of producing this knowledge through verifying and interpreting the evidence that supports the scientific theories. This course aims to extend this scope to ontology- asking questions about what kinds of things exist in the material world and their relations; methodology- questions about testing theories; and sociological questions about the role scientific institutions, political powers, government, business organizations, NGOs and public understanding of science during the production of scientific knowledge. We will consider not only what pertains to scientific culture, but also how this culture is embedded into the social structure and culture of the everyday social life. We will focus on social science philosophy.
