Course Description
This innovative course examines the links between coaching and organization development through a Gestalt perspective while emphasizing a developmental perspective for students on three levels: learning and awareness about self as a coach, developing presence in group and organizational domains, creating productive and fulfilling relationships through the coaching skill, and understanding coaching within systems dynamics. Coaching is needed today more than ever as a critical tool in organizational settings in the face of chaotic contextual change. Organizations need to adapt to today's rapidly shifting marketplace, but people and systems are naturally resistant to change. Coaching can facilitate productive transformation in persons, teams and systems by enabling leader managers and employees to unleash potential that might otherwise go untapped. Through coaching, students will learn how coaching helps them clarify their visions, beliefs and needs, and enable them to fully embody their presence. In changing from old hierarchical models to relational models for leading and influencing, businesses are creating coaching cultures that encourage organizational learning. This course will provide students with the opportunity to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and practice, for coaching has emerged as the best way to help individuals learn and create supportive work environments.

Course Description
Systems Thinking lays the groundwork for Industrial Engineering (IE) practice; it is a pre-requisite for making sense of human behavior, structuring issues and defining problems. Without an adequate conception of systems: irrelevant or ineffectual problems may be addressed, the link from quantitative analysis to management practice will be incomplete; designs will not work out as planned, and improvements will fail to succeed. This course addresses systems thinking and systems theory in a formal and systematic treatment.
