This course is built upon Asset Pricing and Financial Markets I. It is aimed at students who wish to understand how financial markets work and how securities are priced.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to;
  1. Employ mathematical tools to compute risk and return for portfolios of securities.
  2. Evaluate portfolio choice problems.
  3. Present, explain and apply the Capital Asset Pricing model for computing expected stock returns.
  4. Critically evaluate the evidence for informational efficiency of stock markets
  5. Price derivative securities using absence of arbitrage.

There will be two exams. There is one midterm (the date is to be announced) which will contribute to 50% of the final mark. The remaining 50% is due to the final exam at the end of the course. In each exam, students are responsible form the material covered up until the exam date. The exams will be composed of open-ended problem questions. The minimum grade required to pass the course is 40/100. Course grade will be curved. Attendance is compulsory for 70% of the lectures. There is no make-up except for students who will bring an acceptable report regarding an illness or who have excuses due to exceptional (family or school related) circumstances.
