The aim of this course; to enable students to learn the concept of communication, the relationship between service delivery and communication skills, communication processes, communication elements, the relationship between personality traits and communication, communication barriers, conflict management and persuasive communication methods.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to;
  1. Describe the communication.
  2. Know communication theories and processes.
  3. Learn communication barriers.
  4. Uses nonverbal communication methods.
  5. Uses verbal communication methods.
  6. Uses written communication methods.
  7. Gain competence to use body language and oral communication effectively.
  8. Become competent to remove communication barriers.

Program Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the programs will be able to;
1. Communicate with dentists by using the necessary dental terminology.
2. Know the causes of occupational musculoskeletal disorders in the working environment and apply the correct ergonomic behaviors.
3. Make the equipment, material and dental unit suitable for accepting a new patient according to the principles of sterilization and disinfection.
4. Use the correct means of communication with patients.
5. Help the dentist during various dental treatments.
6. Know the applications of preventive dentistry.
7. Know and apply ways of protecting themselves, the patient and the dentist from radiation.
