Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to;
  1. Define the place, importance and value of geriatric rehabilitation in health care.
  2. Define and differentiate terminology such as chronological age, biological age, functional age, cognitive age, aging, geriatrics, gerontology.
  3. Explain the micro-scale cellular and physiological changes associated with age and describe theories about the human aging process.
  4. identify major categories and explain evidence-based methods for comprehensive evaluation in the geriatric population.
  5. Discuss the rehabilitation needs to improve the quality of life in the geriatric population and develop an evidence-based individual treatment program.
