About The Program

Physiotherapist provides services to individual and population to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout of the lifetime. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation practices are necessary for healthy and unhhealthy people and for disabled and non-disabled people people in every period of life. The aims of physiotherapy and rehabilitation practices are to continue a healthy and productive life, shorten the duration of illness and gain and maintain the most productive level in case of disability. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation practices contribute to the development of society and increase its productivity and provide services in a wide area. The curriculum is designed to provide knowledge, skills and attitudes related to health sciences courses as well as courses in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation science branch. Thus, it is aimed for students to fulfill their professional roles as clinicians, educators, consultants, managers, businessmen and researchers. The first year focuses on basic sciences and introductory information to the field, and the second year focuses on field courses with applications. At the end of the second year, clinical experience begins with the first summer internship. In the third year, clinical preparations are developed with clinical courses and rehabilitation applications. The final year is focused on clinical practice, clinical analysis and field competencies, and academic competence is targeted with a graduation thesis. Clinical practice in this year includes a total of six clinical practice rotations, four days a week. The curriculum is completed with compulsory and elective courses held at school one day a week. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy and rehabilitation science.
