In this course, basic principles, processes, approaches and methods of psychology are discussed.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to;
  1. Define the basic concepts in psychology.
  2. Explain psychological approaches.
  3. Explain cognitive and psychosocial development processes.
  4. Discuss the biological and psychological basis of behavior.
  5. Use the knowledge and approaches learned in this course in patient care.
  6. Explain sensation-perception-memory and learning processes.
  7. Give meaning to human behavior.
  8. Gain knowledge about approaches to human behavior.

Program Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the programs will be able to;
1. make decisions by integrating theoretical and practical knowledge about all disciplines constituting the science of nutrition and dietetics with a critical approach.
2. evaluates the nutritional status of individuals from different cultures and groups, preventing and treating diseases through healthy nutrition.
3. professional practices can be conducted using information technologies within international standards and ethical guidelines, taking an individual and multidisciplinary approach.
4. follows research on food, nutrition, and health by utilizing foreign language proficiency, and develops and implements evidence-based nutrition plans.
5. during and after their education, plans, conducts, and evaluates scientific studies that protect and promote health, the environment, and cultural values at the national and/or international level.
6. facilitate behavioral change through counseling by using written and verbal communication skills and educational materials in the fields of nutrition and dietetics.
7. Plan and manage the development of suitable facilities and products while enforcing food safety regulations in the production-consumption chain of collective nutrition systems.
