About The Program
For a better understanding and representation of the discipline; the Program aims to contextualize the production of architectural knowledge within a broader and more comprehensive framework, including discussions on urbanism and landscape architecture. Putting emphasis on the production of knowledge in an interdisciplinary environment, historical context; the Program will study architectural history, theory and criticism in a contextual perspective. While enhancing traditional practices of academic communication skills; the program also aims to foster innovative writing skills and techniques that are born out of the contextual essence of the paradigms discussed in thesis studies. In this context, the framework of the program, launched within the tripartite schema of Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape Studies, support each other.
Profile of the Program
This is a Master's Program with Thesis. The program is open to all applicants who has received bachelor's degree in architecture, or, other related disciplines outside architecture. The program aims to introduce the culture, ethics and discipline of academic world to those students who wish to pursue an academic career, as well as to students who wish to work as a professional. The program aims to teach how to conduct an academic research within in an interdisciplinary framework at the intersection of Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape; and, to provide methods and instruments to discuss paradigms within the framework of a written thesis written in order to contribute to the production of knowledge.

(1) First cycle (Bachelor's degree) (2) National centralized Graduate Education Entrance Examination (3) Certificate of Istanbul Bilgi University English Language Exam (BILET) or acceptable score of TOEFL or similar internationally recognised exams (4) Satisfactory score on the admission interview
Recognition of Credit Mobility and Prior Learning
The transfer of credits for courses taken outside of İstanbul Bilgi University is done in accordance with the associated principals of the Regulation by the respective Faculty or Institute Management Board. Students can be declared to be exempt from these courses if the associated Faculty/Institute Boards deem that the course content of the course taken at a different institution is in accordance with the content of the course given at İstanbul Bilgi University.
Qualification and Graduation Requirements and Regulations
A student is required to complete 120 ECTS credits and achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.80/4.00 with no failing grades.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of this program can both pursue professional and academic careers. Graduates of this program who wish to pursue an academic career not only in the fields architecture, urbanism and landscape professions, but also in arts, archeology, sociology, anthropology, history, geography, philosophy, or, literary studies may continue their future PhD studies in Turkey or abroad. In professional life, they can contribute to the discplines of Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape by writing articles in critical issues, as well they can shape their professional practices and career goals within the framework of this program.
